It was a successful trip to the Adirondacks this week. On a whim, I booked a motel room and decided to cross two more fire tower trails off my list.

While the booking was spontaneous, prepping for the hike was not.

Here’s what I recommend if you’re looking to get out and explore the great outdoors.

I am very excited to report I’ve completed two of the Adirondack Fire Tower hikes.

This time – as you may have notice in the title – I did it by myself.

I set a goal for myself this year. In 2021, I will complete the Adirondack Fire Tower Challenge.

It’s a lofty goal, involving investing in some gear, putting some time aside, and making the journey out to the Adirondack region every so often.

Last week, I decided to go and get started. First stop: Bald Mountain.

This summer has been different, to say the least. I moved to a new city, started a new job, all in the middle of a pandemic.

Fast forward to now. I’ve been working as a news producer for over two months now. It’s about time I took a vacation…
